Dr. Mitchel’s third wife was Margaret (née Davis) Gray. She was my great-aunt, daughter of Levi Davis and Catherine Ann Hopkins, Sevier County, Arkansas, pioneers. She married first her mother’s husband’s much younger brother and was married to Dr. Mitchel in Clarksville, Texas. Her Aunt Isabella Haddon Hopkins Clark founded the City of Clarksville and Red River County Texas.

There is no known plot for the burial of Dr. Mitchel or his wife Margaret Mitchel at Presbyterian Cemetery in Washington, Arkansas. We cannot find their graves. One of their daughters, Jennifer (died about age thirteen), is buried at Presbyterian Cemetery in Washington.
