I was pleased to find your article about the history of bait fishing in Arkansas. My grandfather, Roy Prewitt, and my father, Steve King, of Lonoke, were pioneers in this field. They worked very hard to create and build this “aquaculture” business. My grandfather as an attorney worked very closely with Senator Fulbright in Washington DC to categorize fish farming as a farm practice. This would allow the fisheries to have the same federal assistance as other farmers. I grew up in the fish ponds and know that it is hard work. It is nice to know that the pioneers in this field have been recognized.
