I looked up Brooks Hays because I happened upon a campaign button with his name and picture on it at an antique store in Hazen. It has a picture of Hays on it with "Brooks Hays for Governor." I snagged it for $2! I knew about him being a congressman and the general history of his involvement as a Southern moderate and his role in the Little Rock crisis of 1957, but was not aware he had run for governor in 1928 and 1930. 
However, what is incomplete in your entry is that his son, Steele Hays, served on the Arkansas Supreme Court in the late 1970s and through the 1980s.
