Pike County babies have made the news twice. On June 11, 1921, triplets were born to Mr. and Mrs. George W. Neal, near Highland. The three boys were named Tom, Dick, and Harry. They weighed one and a half pounds, two pounds, and two and a half pounds, respectively. Thirty-one years later, on January 14, 1952, quadruplets were born to Leonard and Haggie Ponder of Murfreesboro. Donna Fay and Dewey Ray weighed three pounds each; Danny Kay weighed two pounds, ten ounces; and Dickey Gay weighed two pounds, twelve ounces.
