Narratives are personal stories that help enrich the reader’s understanding of a time period, person, place, or event. These are first-person views of history taken from personal recollections, memoirs, diaries, and oral histories.

I am a daughter of the "deep south" with a family who has gone before me as Daughters of the American Revolution. My late mother, Bennie Currey, was a Chapter Regent and held this recognition highly. We are proud of our southern heritage and roots and thank our family who fought for our freedom. My personal opinions on slavery are a "whole different subject"! However, my love for my mother and our "Beautiful South" is endless.
